The Birb Brigade - #birdcon15

On Wednesday night, July 15, I had the dumb idea to have a Twitter party (#birdcon15) and offer free bird drawings in my signature "this is so dumb but so cute" style, partially as an inside joke and partially to get a little interest in my work because I had just gone full-time with my illustration career. So I went home and drew an advertisement stating that every Twitter account that retweeted it would get a bird doodle based on their Twitter icon... IF I managed to get up to 500 followers within the next 24 hours (I had 400 at the time). It was a lofty goal considering it had taken me three years to reach 400, so it was a bit of a joke. Well, by Friday morning it had gained 675 retweets and I had almost 800 followers. I learned the hard way that 1) Twitter does not have a way of seeing exactly who retweeted something (I had to go through my notifications manually and unfortunately I could only capture just over 500 of the retweeters) and 2) this would become a long-term project.
